Lononaut's Name Explained
Some people have asked about the origin of Lononaut's name. It's a portmanteau of the Hawaiian deity "Lono" and the Greek word "naut," which means sailor or traveler.
The name also pays homage to two of my favorite writers: Hunter S. Thompson and Warren Hinckle. (You can call yourself a true journalism buff if you understand how Hinckle ties into the Lononaut name.) I considered "The Lononaut," but I took a cue from another company and removed the word, "The."
We will be discussing culture, history, marketing, coffee, and all things travel.
